About

Does the world’s most famous diving tower lie in Hamar?

It might well be. The diving tower is undoubtedly Norway’s most famous diving tower. The phrase “All publicity is good publicity” fits perfectly with the story behind the tower, which is considered one of the Hamar region’s biggest attractions. A series of reports in national media has ensured that people all over Norway know about the diving tower, which opened in the summer of 2015.

An exceptionally complicated and lengthy process from idea to completion contributed to a major budget overrun, and the final price of the diving tower ended up at 25.8 million Norwegian kroner. Hamar Municipality paid 13.1 million kroner, after receiving six million kroner in compensation from the design firm. The rest was funded through lottery grants and VAT compensation.

In addition to being a popular tower to jump from, it has become a venue for various TV productions, concerts, and commercials. There is even a book written about the famous diving tower.

The diving tower is beautifully located along Hamar’s well-known shoreline, right next to the town centre.
