About
With a Heart for Aquavit
The historic Atlungstad Distillery is beautifully located down by the shores of Lake Mjøsa, in Stange Vestbygd, 5 km south of Hamar. It was established in 1855 as a cooperative owned by farmers in Stange. Aquavit, punch, and other spirits have been produced here. The distillery is still in operation parts of the year, with potato spirit being distilled from mid‑September to mid‑October.
Atlungstad Distillery hosts a range of cultural events and courses, and they offer open guided tours from approximately June 20th to October 20th. After the tours, it is possible to join a guided aquavit tasting.
In‑house Restaurant
In the distillery’s own restaurant, you can enjoy unique food and drink experiences, with aquavit spices as a common thread throughout the meal. The chefs use regional ingredients and prepare them with great respect for the produce and Norwegian food traditions.
The restaurant has 60 indoor seats and 120 outdoor seats, and is open year‑round.
Atlungstad Distillery is an ideal venue for meetings, courses, and private events.
