About

Get to know Amadeus and his 200 friends

Tangen Dyrepark is a welcoming family park with many different animals, such as macaque, marmoset, gibbon, zebra, camel, donkey, emu, snakes, iguana, fox, pony, pig, goats, and more. It has as many as 200 inhabitants belonging to 30 different species, from the Nordics and from more exotic locations.

The animals live in beautiful natural surroundings, close to the footpaths through the park. Get extra close by feeding the animals. Bags of feed are sold at the park. At one end, there is a playground, seating area, and ready-to-use BBQs. Charcoal and lighting fluid are provided free of charge. The perfect spot to enjoy your picnic. There is also a kiosk and a souvenir shop.

The park is located at Tangen, 25 km south of Hamar.

Fancy being a zookeeper for a day?

Children are invited to help with the feeding, and get to experience close contact with the animals and learn about wildlife. It is also possible to work as a zookeeper for a day.

Most of the fences allow visitors to get close enough to feed or pet the animals.

Tangen Dyrepark also offer birthday party packages.

The animal park is most renowned for the gibbon Amadeus, who used to have his own children’s TV series.
